Rock Their World

Rock Their World, a charity benefit for Mentoring USA was created to support National Mentoring Month and held on January 20, 2007 at Eastern Effects lighting studio in Brooklyn. The rock n’ roll photography exhibition and auction featured donated artworks by artists Steve Joester, John Putnam, and Mick Rock. The Wandering Bards and Supersatellite performed, and the event was sponsored by the Brooklyn Brewery, Key Foods, and Le Petit Café.  The event raised over $1600. Anderson curated works by Steve Joester for the exhibition and worked with Phipps Community House mentor Sheryl Victor and Mentoring USA staff to organize and promote the fundraiser, including press release writing and distribution. The fundraiser received positive press in an article on "The Good and Bad of Charity Auctions" featured on ArtInfo.com.

Mentoring USA's mission is to provide high quality, one-to-one mentors for at-risk youth. Their goal is to anchor children through consistent, frequent, and supported attention by trained adult mentors.
